Montblanc’s 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen collection continues to explore the planet’s wildest landscapes with a series dedicated to alpinist and Montblanc Mark Maker Reinhold Messner and his achievement of climbing the seven highest mountain peaks on each of the seven continents. This first edition refers to the seventh peak – Mount Vinson. This Geosphere 0 Oxygen edition is limited to 986 pieces (as a nod to 1986 – the year when Messner made his ascent of Mount Vinson). It comes in a 43.5 mm titanium case that is directly inspired by the Mount Vinson landscape with a composite middle case crafted from quartz fibres, aluminized basalt fibres, CaCO₃, and light blue resin. Reinforcing the theme of adventure, the case totally devoid of oxygen comes with an engraved luminous gray outline of the Mount Vinson on the side while a 3D colored laser engraving of this majestic peak adorns the titanium case back. The timepiece is powered by the MB 29.25 automatic movement with Montblanc’s Manufacture worldtime complication, which includes rotating Northern and Southern Hemisphere globes, a 24-hour scale, Day & Night indications, dual time display, and a date. Completing the timepiece is a blue-green interchangeable rubber strap featuring a taper and a fine adjustment system.
