The color of the dial is Katsuiro, which is considered to be one of the deepest shades of indigo in Japan. This color was popular among Samurai warriors as it was believed to bring good fortune in battle and was therefore used to decorate many warriors’ armor. The dial has the texture of solid rock, with its own natural pattern, as if hewn by hand. Thanks to Grand Seiko’s unique Spring Drive caliber, the seconds hand glides silently and smoothly, with no ‘tick’, across the dial, perfectly reflecting the natural and continuous flow of time.
